About us and our beautiful bay

A PLACE OF PURE RELAXATION

Mango Beach is a historic Bed & Breakfast inn on the waterfront in Marigot Bay, on the peaceful side of the bay next to the beach, accessible only by boat and served by a ferry 24/7, which is free for our guests.

But we are also just a few minutes from all the little restaurants, and bars around the bay as well as the three spas, supermarket, bank, shops and marina. We have a small pool with a sundeck, gazebo and barbeque area and extensive gardens where we grow fruit as well as a great range of flowering plants and trees.

Mango Beach is a great place for sunbathing and birdwatching in the day and stargazing at night and, if you’re feeling energetic, the steep trail behind the inn leads to a meditation deck on a ridge where you can contemplate Mount Gimie, the highest mountain on the island.

We are currently rated number two in St. Lucia on TripAdvisor.

LET’S GET INTO DETAIL

Mango Beach Inn is ideally situated on the calm, Caribbean coast, halfway between the night clubs, restaurants and beaches of the north and the rainforest, mountains and hot springs in the south. The sandy swimming beach “Labas” (which means “over there”) is just 2 minutes along the boardwalk and every kind of non motorised watersport is available. We share a dock with the famous Rainforest Hideaway, one of the best restaurants in the Caribbean and there are plenty of other bars and restaurants around the bay, from fine dining to casual.

There is a small shopping village with a bank and supermarket as well as souvenir shops and a boutique, a coffee shop and bakery, two spas and a beauty parlour. Dinghy sailing, kayaking, pedalos, snorkeling, dive trips and charter boats are available and there are nature trails in the surrounding hills.

Although there is plenty to do, we find that many of our guests like to spend time just relaxing on the beach or by our pool which has a gazebo and barbeque area for their use. We also have a large garden, lots of books and games and a trail leading up to the ridge behind the inn with fabulous views. Breakfast is served to suit you in the Harbour room which has a lovely view over the inner bay and you can do a bit of boat watching (everything from celebrity superyachts to the banana seller on his surf board). We have WiFi of course – most of our guests seem to travel with their laptops!

harbourroom

The Beautiful Harbour Room, with its panoramic view of the bay, is the guest breakfast room and lounge area. It’s an ever changing scene with boats coming and going, mega yachts of 200 feet and more, world famous racing sail boats from classic J Class sloops like Velsheda to fast, modern Wallys. At the other end of the boat scale are the local pirogues, fishing boats, the banana seller on his surf board and tiny kayaks and rowing boats weaving in and out between the opulent celebrity charters.

In the evening there is an informal bar for guests who like to relax over before or after dinner drinks, chat about their day’s activities and compare photos. There’s free WiFi so it’s a great place to get in touch with home or business, read, play games or watch TV.

Our Reviews

You may have read a lot of reviews from tourists but this one comes from a local. I moved to St. Lucia for work from Milton keynes, UK (and India before that) about a year ago. My wife and I decided to break the monotony and spend a weekend at Mango beach inn. As the title suggests, as soon as we reached there it was a total amnesia of troubles, work and even the fact that we actually live in St. Lucia itself. Peaceful is what my emotions were through out my stay. Not to mention the excellent hospitality by John and Judith made it even more special.

The dinner at restaurant Rainforest Hideaway is one of the best experiences in St. Lucia. Don't miss that.
